Tree at my Window summary

The poem is about a tree outside his bedroom window. He closes his window at night, but he says that there will never be a curtain between him and the tree. The tree looks like an unclear dream head that has risen out of the ground. The tree’s babbling (talking out loud) can’t all be wise. But the poet has seen it taken and thrown around by strong winds.

The tree might have also seen the poet’s dreams take over his sleep so much that he was almost lost. Fate had her mind about her. She decided that the tree should be worried about the weather outside. The poet should be concerned about the weather inside. The poem shows that people are just as affected by bad weather or natural disasters as trees are. And bad weather is a sign of the inner turmoil of humans.
